As you age, the volume of collagen (a naturally-occurring protein in the skin that helps to shape and support it) in your skin decreases and the skin begins to lose elasticity and firmness as a result.
Dermal fillers are designed to counteract the loss of collagen. They effectively “fill out” and smooth away troublesome and irritating lines, wrinkles, and hollows, and recreate the smoother contours of youthful skin without the need for any surgery. They contain hyaluronic acid (which is naturally found as a component in our body and skin), which not only volumises, but also hydrates and softens the treated skin.
WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Dermal fillers are a perfect way to smooth away minor to moderate lines and wrinkles surrounding the eyes, nose, and mouth. Often, they are used to treat nose-to-mouth grooves, forehead and frown lines, and lipstick lines.
They can also be used to add fullness and volume to thin lips, treat sunken cheeks, restore lost facial volume, and even shape the bridge of the nose or reshape the chin.
WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?
The treatment is very quick and virtually pain-free. Before the procedure, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated in order to numb the area and minimize any discomfort. A very fine needle is then used to inject the filler. Like all of our non-surgical treatments, the procedure can be carried out at your home or at our clinic and will only take between twenty and forty minutes, depending on the number of lines being treated.
